The West Kootenay area of British Columbia's Southern Interior is an outdoor mecca with world class skiing, biking, golfing, fishing, and much more. Charming towns and cities rich in history are surrounded by miles and miles of well maintained trails. As well, the mountain landscape is complemented by the numerous lakes and rivers in the area, including the Columbia River, Nancy Greene Lake, Arrow Lake, and Kootenay Lake.

Amazing Kootenay Mountain Biking

Rossland, BC is home to the Kootenay Trails Society which does a stellar job maintaining 32 trails covering 170 km. These trails range from wide, gently sloped rail grades for beginners to extremely steep, rocky expert trails for highly skilled riders that need more adrenaline. One of the best aspects of riding in Rossland is that many of the these trails can be accessed by riding a few minutes from anywhere in town, reducing the need for vehicles and shuttles.

The riding in Nelson, BC is equally appealing and dividing time between Nelson and Rossland makes for a mountain bike holiday to remember forever. Like Rossland, 70 plus trails are in exceptionally good condition and many of them have man made features including ramps, drops, and gap jumps for those who choose to live dangerously.
